Femi Fani-Kayode meet with IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu at Kuje Prison
Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, embattled former Director of Publicity for the PDP Campaign Organisation (PDPCO), spent time discussing with detained leader of the separatist group – Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) during his recent detention at the Kuje Prison, Abuja we can exclusively reveal.
Chief Fani-Kayode was remanded at the Kuje Prison for 4 days by a Federal High Court pending the satisfaction of the requirements for his bail. It was here he met Nnamdi Kanu, who has been detained since November 15, 2015 while standing trial on charges of treasonable felony, and membership of an illegal organization among others.
Our sources reveal that the discussions between the two centred around Kanu’s pro-separatist stance and his insistence of the actualisation of a sovereign state of Biafra. The discussion between the two also delved into the need to restructuring the country and the need for fiscal federalism in the Country.
Chief Fani-Kayode is said to have agreed with the Biafra leader on the quest of the Igbos to self determination but insisted that fiscal federalism would better serve the interests of all Nigerians and the various federating units, than the actualization of a sovereign state of Biafra.
Chief Fani-Kayode is currently standing trial on charges of money laundering to the tune of N26m.
We will bring you more details of this meeting.
