The Youth wing of Ohanaeze Ndigbo yesterday, carpeted calls for the resignation of the group’s President-General, Chief John Nnia Nwodo. Some Igbo groups had demanded his resignation following his reported visit to former Vice President Alhaji Atiku Abubakar at his Abuja residence.

In a press statement issued in Enugu, signed by the National Secretary and the Publicity Secretary of Ohanaeze Youths, Comrade Okwu Nnabuike and Obinna Adibe described the call as reckless. They however pledged their loyalty to the Nwodo- led National Executive Council (NEC) until their tenure expires in 2019.

The statement reads: “We wish to use this opportunity to once more congratulate the Chief John Nnia Nwodo-led Ohanaeze Ndigbo.

“This is no doubt a new dawn for Ndigbo as we have no doubt in his ability to steer this ship safely considering his track records of public service and experience. “However, we are pained that paid fifth columnists are at it again. The agents of ‘pull him down syndrome’ are back again
