Gas supplies to NLNG cuts as a result of pipeline explosion
The Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas (NLNG) said is not receiving gas supply at the moment because of an explosion that hit a pipeline system supplying feedgas to the company’s liquefied natural gas (LNG) export facility in Bonny, Rivers State.
The NLNG said no casualties were reported and the incident, which occurred last Wednesday, was being investigated.
But Managing Director of the company Tony Attah told newsmen on the sidelines of an oil conference in Abuja that though the pipeline impacted did not belong to the NLNG it was true that the company has a line in the same corridor.
“But we are partnering with the company whose line was impacted to ensure that we restore operations,” Attah said.
“We are not receiving gas at the moment from them because of the situation but we are working to help them come back because if they are back we are sure to receive more supply to fill our Train 1-6,” he added.
