Gov Okorocha calls for national reconciliation, urges Buhari to free Kanu
THE Imo state governor, Rochas Okorocha yesterday made a bold move for the first time by calling for a national reconciliation amid all the odds and happenings in the country even as he pleaded with President Muhammadu Buhari to release the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu in what he described in the spirit of national reconciliation
He made this call while receiving and playing host to the Vice President of Nigeria, Prof. Yemi Osibajo at the airport of Owerri, Imo State. The Vice President was actually on his was to Abia State as part of the stakeholders consultation on the Niger Delta region. Okorocha said Kanu’s activities should be seen as youthful exuberance and call for his release.
According to the governor “What he is agitating for, is what others are agitating for too. But he used the wrong language and insulted leaders including myself. But this is the time for national reconciliation”
