THE CHURCH AND POLITICS
I don't need any
dictionary to explain to me the meaning of Church. In my own understanding, a
Church is a place where Christians, believers in Jesus Christ gather to worship
God and also seek the face of God. In Church, it is expected that the man of God
or priest should always concentrate on the things of God. The primary
assignment of every man of God is to convert souls to Christ and teach them the
gospel.
But today, what
we are seeing in the church is not encouraging at all. Some so called men of
God are more concerned about politics than the main purpose of the church,
which is to preach the unadulterated word of God. Some pastors are now
political contractors, they will stand in the holy altar of God and be talking
about individuals that have no regard for God. They will be promoting
politicians whose hands are not clean, simply because their bank account is
smiling with millions from the evil politicians. They will deceive some
gullible members and tell them that it is the will of God. What an abomination!
The house of God
has been turned into a campaign ground. A pastor will stand on the pulpit and
be campaigning for a particular politician, even when he knows that the
individual is corrupt and incompetent, but for the simple reason that he has
been paid off, he will start talking balderdash.
Sometime ago, a
certain respected Rev Father told his congregation that a war criminal like
late Muhammadu Buhari was a saint and should be voted into office as the
president of the zoo called Nigeria. He even boosted and told his audience that
he got the message from the Holy Spirit.
Today, the
acclaimed messiah is a monster and a mass murderer that he has always been and
the Rev. Father is licking his spittle. Ndị amụma ụgha (fake prophets).
Now election is
around the corner and some of them are falsely claiming the Holy Spirit has
started talking again. Another Fulani in the person of Atiku Abubakar is on set
to take over as another false saint and the gullible will still go and vote
"because Daddy G.O said so". I wonder if some people actually have
common sense. Because if they do, they will know that power belongs to them and
have the right to give it to anyone of their choice or better still keep it to
themselves and demand for a change of the system that will benefit them.
The earlier we
begin to make use of our brain properly, the better for everyone. We cannot
allow ourselves to be deceived by some fake and politicians' stooges
masquerading as leaders like Ohanaeze Ndi Igbo, pastors etc. They also are
mortals like us. Forget about the title or whatever, even the Bible made it
clear that all men are equal before God.
You are in the
church to serve God and do His will, not that of your pastor when he goes
wrong. This is why I commend the action of some Biafrans at CKC. They
courageously opposed a Rev Father who left the important things he should have
talked about and started talking about politics and Election.
What even
baffles me the most is that these so-called men of God will be talking about
the bad governance of these same politicians, but when it comes to election
period, piaam! Aka na onú. Only few will stand to continue saying the truth.
What a hypocrisy!
We have been
voting for decades and nothing good has ever come out of it. Therefore, we want
to boycott, and certainly, something good will come from it. You cannot be
doing same thing always and be expecting different results. My people think.
Let's do this and wait for the outcome.
Boycott the
already rigged Nigeria fraudulent election, unless they give us a date for
Referendum, so that we can decide if we still want to remain in Nigeria. Unity
is not by force!
