THE CONTINUED ARREST AND INCARCERATION OF EVEN THE PHYSICALLY CHALLENGED BIAFRANS BY THE NIGERIAN GOVERNMENT

Time comes and goes by, histories comes and never departs; the deeds we portray live after us, they are imbedded in the sands of time no matter how long after we are gone, be they good or bad, somehow sometimes, they get portrayed, people who come after us shall always ask questions, and history shall have all the credible answers.

Enugu State government under Rt Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi has chosen this second tenure for brazen human rights violations against innocent Biafrans and even the physically challenged. It is evident from the brazen violations of rights of Biafrans ongoing, his low profile of very unfortunate counteractions in the previous administration was merely to gain both ground and sympathy of the general populace on his second term bid. That is gone already and here we are.  Dr. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi is turned another of the many un-termed cats that desecrate the political space and sensibilities of the people of Biafra (South East and South-south), no newness at all in reminding the already awakened observers, that the camouflage and slaving governors fall on one another trying to please the blood thirsty, supremacist and overlords up North of the No country, No Nation, No Union travesty on Nationhood but conspirators' corporation called Nigeria (the meaningless nomenclature) in the West of Africa. This corporation called Nigeria hurts God in every step of the way.

Mr Magnus Ibeh (a.k.a. IGWE BIAFRA) is a physically challenged technician who resides at Achara layout in Enugu. He is known across Enugu as a fanatic Biafran activist.  For his love for Biafra, he can starve to spend his last penny to see Biafra comes. His zeal for Biafra was what drove him into sensitization and mobilization of the people around him and come to his shop for repair of electronics and many who love his open display of love for Biafra into support for Biafra.

Mr Magnus Ibeh in no small measure committed his personal resources to support the sensitization of the people for the need for Biafra which attracted people from far and wide, including top political class sympathetic to Biafra and state agents to his shop to listen to Radio BIAFRA broadcasts. His shop is always a cynosure whenever there is a major broadcast by Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. It is known by police, Army and DSS agents. Mazi Magnus Ibeh is actually a physically challenged with dysfunctional left leg but never relented in the fight to see Biafra comes to free humanity from the slavish union called Nigeria.

THE ARREST OF MAGNUS IBEH

Magnus Ibeh left for his shop, on the early morning of the 30th May, 2019 to listen to Mazi Nnamdi Kanu's broadcast, which was slated to begin at exactly 6: am. This is because he can only listen to the broadcast via his satellite without interruptions.

He was in his shop listening to the broadcast, when the marauding Nigerian police patrol team stormed his shop, and started dragging him out of his shop. Why the marauding soldiers would leave boko haram, herdsmen, bandits terrorizing the North to manhandle the physically challenged Mr Magnus Ibeh in the manner they did, as though he is a common criminal still beats my imagination. He was dragged on the ground and serious injuries inflicted on him with dastard impunity, simply because he chose to listen to a Radio program. This in all ramifications is too much a violation of his fundamental human rights to freedom of association. Mr Magnus Ibeh had before his arrest no case of human rights infringement on any citizen. He was subsequently taken to the state CID in Enugu State and detained till 31st night of May 2019, where he was arraigned in the magistrate court in Enugu for trial.

I implore all lovers of freedom and the entire human rights community and the UN agency for the protection of human and people's right to rise to the occasion and enforce the liberty and right of Mr Magnus Ibeh to freedom of association. Mr Magnus Ibeh is a family man! He is physically challenged! He was molested and abused for no reasons.

I seize this opportunity to call the attention of the physically challenged people's Agencies in Nigeria and World over, the civil Rights organizations and human rights Non-governmental Organizations to come to Mr Magnus Ibeh's rescue. It is a huge risk to live human being in the custody of Nigerian Police. Their massive records of torture, killings and too many atrocious misdeeds inform the credibility of these fears. Human rights violations against one are same as against all. A stitch in time saves nine
