THE BLASPHEMY BY NOLLYWOOD

0

June 15 2020 | The Biafra Restoration Voice

I stopped showing interest in Nollywood movies so many years ago, but I don't go against anyone watching Nollywood movies but I have this to say.

After watching some epic movies of our people by Nollywood producers, I was moved to draw a conclusion, that some of the movies by these people are inimical to our people's hallowed culture, customs and traditions.

In the year 2000, I travelled to Ghana for a function, I was shocked to realize that an average Ghanaian sees an Igbo man as a ritualist and someone who believes so much in charms and witchcraft. If you have been to Ghana or any of the African countries for business, you may appreciate what I am saying. All these misconceptions and falsehood against our people were made possible by Nollywood movie producers who deliver false story lines about our people. It is a proven fact that Nollywood movies sale more in Ghana than Ghana movies.

It is only in Nollywood movie that you see an Igbo King struggling with his son over a throne. It is only in Nollywood movies, that the Prince and the Princess have their own separate entourage with body guards, sometimes fighting against one another. All these I call "Nollywood royal rascality."

Now take my questions:

Ø  In your village, do your people bow down when they see the daughter or the son of your Igwe (King) in public?

Ø  In your village do you run campaigns before you choose your Igwe?

Ø  Does your Igwe kidnap other people's wife in your village and marry them by force?

Ø  Does your so-called Igwe make decision without his cabinet?

Ø  Can your Igwe, sell community land without the endorsement of his cabinet who are the true representatives of the people?

Ø  Does your Igwe summons the community in his palace or the village square?

Ø  Can your Igwe singlehandedly dethrone the traditional Prime Minister (Onowu) without the consent of the elders in council?

It is time high time we called Nollywood to order, our people are Democratic and we have practiced democracy for Thousands of years before the Europeans.

Biafrans have a divine, noble and traditional method of choosing their traditional rulers and when coronated, they are seen as a mediator between the people and God.

Our people are hardworking and industrious people, we encourage and celebrate hard work.

Whether it is intentional or not, these movies are misleading the people about us. Tell the people our real story. Enough of all these poor story lines against our people by people who grew up in the cities without proper knowledge of our traditions. You are indirectly working for our enemies to destroy our people and our cultural heritage. You cannot give what you don't have.

Biafrans are special people blessed by Elohim, so no amount of your fake stories can change who we are.

All Hail Biafra.
