THE RAT RACE
November 19 2020 | The Biafra Restoration Voice
When the cat is away the mice will play. It is quite unfortunate that this adage best describes the relationship that exist between the Eastern Region politicians and the rest of the politicians in Nigeria.
Yes, I am using the term Eastern Region because I can't stand the folly of using South-South in my write up, since the term have no place in the Cardinal points. The Old Eastern Region contained what you have today as South East and the foolery called South-South.
We fought a war, a war of self-determination, a war of independence, a war of self-defence and a war survival. Was that enough for our politicians to be playing appeasement politics at the expense of our co-operate existence as a people.
All our politicians are struggling so hard to be seen by their Northern counterparts as subservient to the caliphate or they will be schemed out of the Political sphere in Nigeria.
In order words, to remain relevant politically, your loyalty will remain with Caliphate not your people. It's a " RAT RACE" The Late Reggae Icon; Bob Marley sang: "what a disgrace to see human race in a rat race."
Amidst killing of innocent villages in Nimbo community in Enugu State by the Fulani Herdsmen, what did the Governor; Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi do to seek for justice for those murdered in cold blood? He declared three days fasting and prayer and travelled to Abuja.
Was there any proactive board of enquiry set by His Excellency to investigate the killings, any arrest or prosecution? What about the Emene killing? Nothing proactive to apprehend the murderers in uniform, but a demand for the return of the killers' weapon.
When Fulani Herdsmen were attacking villagers in Ayamelum Local government area in Anambra State, Willy Obiano the Governor issued a press statement noting that any one that kills any Anambra Indigene will pay Five Hundred Thousand Naira to his government.
In other words, when you calculate the population of Anambra people, rich monopolist like Aliko Dangote can pay upfront to have all the people in Anambra state massacred while Excellency smiles to the Banks.
Okezie Ikpeazu played host to the Military Operation tagged "Operation Python dance" where many Igbo youth were massacred by the military, including those who were drowned in the mud. Did he set any board of enquiry to prosecute those Soldiers involved in extra judicial killing of Abians?
The palace of a traditional ruler was invaded and Twenty-eight people murdered by without any provocation. Did the Governor utter any statement to Condemn? Your guess is as good as mine.
In Imo State, an aged man was massacred in Oguta, on his farm land, any investigation? Any arrest or prosecution? Hope Uzodinma; a man who became Governor in a most controversial supreme court judgement ever known in history of election petition in Nigeria, should not be expected to do much.
His hands were already tied before his inglorious entrance into the Douglas house, his loyalty is to those who made sure he is planted through the supreme court judgement, and not really the Imolites who voted for Emeka Ihedioha but have been brow beaten into submission.
Dave Umahi the state Governor of Ebonyi State has abandoned the party; PDP that brought him to power, fortunately the Ebonyi politicians have rejected his move to APC, before now the Fulani Herdsmen have been attacking the villagers and taking over community land including Izzi community land.
Did the Governor do anything to proscribe the Fulani Herdsmen in his state? He wants to be seen as a worthy candidate for 2023 Vice President or the illusion called Igbo presidency by the Northern godfathers.
The Rivers State Governor Nyesom Nwike, is now involved in another Igbo massacre in Southern Nigeria in Obigbo. Saying he is not Igbo to me is not a surprise, he knows himself more than anyone. But hunting down his perceived IPOB members in Rivers State is an ambition taken too far.
IPOB members do not have Identity card, they don’t have a special uniform. So how was Nyesom Nwike able to fish out the IPOB members they are killing in Obigbo. He is just committing another genocide of again the Igbos.
The #EndSARS protest was organised by Nigeria Youth, so dragging IPOB into the issue of the killing of security personnel is pure wickedness and unacceptable. Nyesom Nwike wants to be the beloved child of the caliphate for s future political career. Let's watch and see.
A traditional ruler in Delta State, was kidnapped and murdered few years ago. Any Board of enquiry by Ifeanyi Okowa the Governor, any prosecution? This happened in a state where we have police men harassing villagers and commercial motorcycle operators.
Unfortunately, all these our Governors have an eye on just one position; the Vice president of the contraption. So as a Governor, you must work hard to please the Master and the power brokers.
This is the reason the killing of our people and raping of our mothers is never reported in the national dailies. Every Governor want to play safe to be seen as fit for the Vice president sloth. How can you promise one job to eleven people, that is a scam? If that promise is anything to go by what are they going to do to other ten people who may not be chosen.
"When the Cat is away the mice will play" it's a RAT race.
I hope they don't end up like Isaac Adaka Boro and Ken Saro Wiwa; after working so hard to please the Northern Oligarchs, including working against their own people, the same people finally executed them, because a Saboteur is only good for use and throw away, absolutely, Sabo do not have second hand value. Time shall tell.
Nobody can submerge the people's cry for freedom in his own utopian political ambition.
Biafran lives matter.
